Online Parent Academy

NVRHS's "Online Parent Academy" (this website) was developed to help keep parents informed regarding our schools' latest initiatives, as well as recent developments in teaching and learning. As described in the NVRHS BOE mission, we understand that education requires a shared commitment by students, professional staff, the BOE, and the community. The videos and learning opportunities on this page represent one of many efforts to continue fostering that commitment by raising awareness about the research based instructional practices that we champion in our district. Transitions toward student-centered instruction, universal design for learning, and proficiency-based assessment are shown to promote deeper learning, longer lasting understandings, and greater access to the curriculum at every level -- but these shifts can certainly create learning environments that don't look and feel like they used to. Explore the resources below to better understand these shifts, and to learn more about your child's learning experiences at NVRHS.
